Pitt-Greensburg science students can now participate in two HHMI SEA programs

Students at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg are now able to participate in two Science Education Alliance (SEA) programs: SEA Phage Hunters Advancing Genomic and Evolutionary Science (SEA-PHAGES) and SEA Gene-Function Exploration by a Network of Emerging Scientists (SEA-GENES).

Pitt-Greensburg to host blood drive on Jan. 28

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will host a blood drive with Vitalent on Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Smith Hall Lounge.

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will host its inaugural Digital Studies Symposium on Wednesday, Jan. 21. The program, which runs from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall 118, will feature previews of the projects developed by students and faculty and a keynote address by Dan Sinykin, the Winship Distinguished Research Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at Emory University. What’s Your (Human) Story? Pitt-Greensburg Celebrates the Power of Storytelling in the Age of Robots

Writers, poets, digital storytellers and more will celebrate the life-affirming, human power of stories at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 6-8 p.m. in McKenna Hall 131. 

The event, “What’s Your (Human) Story? A Storytelling Showcase,” will bring together students and faculty storytellers to share their work. The event is free and open to the public. A reception, book-and-swag table, and a free typewriter-poem station will accompany the readings.

PBS’s The American Revolution to be screened at Pitt-Greensburg

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will join other organizations throughout the nation and region in providing a free public screening of an episode of The American Revolution, a six-part, 12-hour documentary series that explores the country’s founding and struggle and its eight-year War for Independence. Pitt-Greensburg, in partnership with WQED, will bring the documentary to the Mary Lou Campana Chapel and Lecture Center on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 5 p.m. This event is sponsored by the campus History Club.

The Center for Digital Studies explores Immersive Storytelling

The Center for Digital Studies at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg presents "Immersive Storytelling in Museums: From Concept to Experience." On Wednesday, Nov. 12, representatives from the Westmoreland Museum of American Art and Italian-based OLO Creative Farm will share how immersive experiences are transforming visitor engagement in museums across the US and Europe.
