Job Duties: Answer phone, take messages, moderate typing and/or word
processing, provide clerical assistance to staff members and assist students.
Prior experience in an office is a plus. Strong interpersonal communication
skills and professional behavior are required. Several departments request help
during the 11:30 AM to 1:30PM time period.
Job Title: Academic Villages Assistant
Job Duties: Post flyers on campus bulletin boards, take attendance at village
events, photocopying, faxing, record keeping, mail preparation, other clerical
duties as assigned.

Job Duties: Assist the Athletics Trainer with game and practice set-up.
Maintain treatment files and data base. Maintain confidentiality. Weekend hours

Job Duties: Assist Sports Information Director in performing a multitude of
tasks related to publicizing athletics. Coordinate the content of game
programs. Create press releases. Compile statistics.

teams. Attend games. Perform clerical duties assigned by coach.

Assistant
Job Duties: Assist the Intramural Director in coordinating the intramural
program. This includes scheduling and training referees, scheduling events,
advertising and promoting the overall program. Evening hours necessary.

Job Duties: Light office skills. Technical skills are helpful. Some evening
work is required. Must possess communication skills and have the ability to

Job Duties: Must be dependable and able to follow laboratory protocols and

Assistant
Job Duties: Operate basic office equipment (copiers, computers, fax machines).
Should have experience with basic Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, and Access),
and be able to work in a multi-task environment. Interact faculty, staff,
students, and people from the local business community. Excellent communication
skills are essential. Daily tasks may include posting job openings, maintaining
bulletin boards, filing documents, sending faxes, compiling evaluations, and
working on special projects as needed.
Job Title: Chambers Hall Information
Desk Attendant
Job Duties: Manage building that houses student union and recreational
facilities. Weekend and evening hours required. Provide a variety of services
to students and visitors. Maintain policies and procedures related to facility
usage. Maintain safety and security in building.
Job Title: Computer Center Operator
Job Duties: Assist students, faculty, and staff with the use of computers and
software. Oversee computer lab usage. Collect usage data. Troubleshoot problems
with resident hall computers, staff computer issues, and student computer
accounts. Answer questions via telephone for the campus helpdesk. The work
schedule is for weekdays and weekends. This department is open from 8:30AM
until 11PM. Technical skills are helpful.
Job Title: Fitness Room Attendant
Job Duties: Assist students in exercise room. Maintain policies and procedures
to ensure a safe environment for users. Must be available to work weekend and
evening hours.
Job Title: Health Center Assistant
Job Duties: Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Stock the Self-Care
Center, perform all clerical functions, order and maintain supplies, answer
phone. Research and create the Topic of the Week.
Job Title: History of Art and
Architecture Student Assistant
Job Duties: Assist the Art Historian/Slide Curator with shooting, mounting,
labeling, cataloging, and scanning slides in UPG's Slide Library. Must have an
eye for details and be able to carry-out careful proofing, precise taping, and
adjust to a variety of projects needed to maintain the Slide Library. Need a
familiarity with Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, Access and scanning, or a
strong desire to learn about these computer programs and functions.
Job Title: Insider (student
newspaper) Editor
Job Duties: Must be a member of the newspaper staff and should be enrolled in
UPG Press. Introduction to Journalism is a pre-or co-requisite. Provide
editorial and clerical assistance to newspaper reporters and supervisor. Must
be dependable, mature, and objective. Excellent communication and
organizational skills are required
Job Title: Learning Resources
Assistant
Job Duties: General clerical duties, including answering phone, taking
messages, moderate typing and/or word processing. Take notes (scribe) and read
for students' tests. Accuracy, good spelling, grammar, punctuation and
organization are required. Positive attitude with strong interpersonal
communication skills and professional behavior is very important.
Job Title: Librarian's Assistant
Job Duties: Assist patrons, re-shelve materials, answer phone, process
materials. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to communicate effectively
and work well with the public. The library is open from 8:30AM until 11PM,
weekend work may be assigned.
Job Title: Lyceum Desk Attendant
Job Duties: Answer the phone. Make sure that the students sign-in and sign-out
when they use the Lyceum. Help Natural Science and New Technologies (NSNT)
presenters to set-up and take down their program equipment. Make certain that
the Lyceum is used properly and to report any miss-use of the Lyceum to the
supervisor. Deliver NSNT event posters. Light clerical work.
Job Title: Mail Delivery Person
Job Duties: Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 2PM until 4PM.
Responsibilities include sorting, picking up and delivering the mail on the
campus. May be asked to run the postage meter and make special trips to the
Post Office, etc., for package delivery and/or pick-up. Must have a valid PA
driver's license and be able to operate a minivan with automatic transmission.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and climb stairs. Must be personable,
dependable, and able to get along with all types of people.
Job Title: Mailroom Assistant
Job Duties: Sort and meter mail. Count and put distributions into mail slots.
Distribute student packages. Log in UPS and other deliveries. Send mail pick-up
notifications. Working knowledge of Excel is preferred.
