Dear Parent:
Has your student declared a major yet? Worried if he or she hasn't? Pitt-Greensburg wants to put your mind at ease—as well as your student’s—with the majors fair on Wednesday, October 10, 2007. This event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the gymnasium in Chambers Hall. Faculty members will be there to represent the wide array of majors, minors, and certificates offered at Pitt-Greensburg and to answer the questions posed by students about courses, requirements, class sequencing, and more. So whether your student has yet to make up his mind or is reconsidering what she’s chosen, this is a great opportunity for your student to assess available options. For additional information, contact career services at 724-836-7182.Encourage your son/daughter to register for the Pitt-Greensburg Emerging Leaders Development Series for the spring term. Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The workshop consists of 10 one-hour sessions beginning in January 2008.
In many ways, the program is similar to management development programs in corporations, but tailored specifically to college students. The workshops include participation in community service projects as well as a combination of traditional and non-traditional learning methods, such as guest facilitators and experiential learning situations.
Successful completion of this program will earn the student a Certificate of Leadership, which will be included in the Student Involvement Transcript. Registration forms are available in 219 Chambers Hall.
