Alumni Host Welcome Reception for Dr. Smith
On Thursday, November 15th the Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association (PGAA) will host a reception for Dr. Sharon Smith. Dr. Smith joined the Pitt-Greensburg family as our new President in July 2007. As guest speaker at the November 6th Networking Luncheon, Dr. Smith urged Alumni to stay involved and to help support the current student body—especially through events like the PGAA Speed Interviewing Night in January. She values Alumni participation and would like to meet more of you, so we are inviting you to join us this Thursday as we officially welcome Dr. Smith as our new President. Food & beverages will be provided, so RSVP’s are appreciated. There will also be a Board of Directors Meeting immediately following the reception. Hope to see you there!

Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association Hosts 2007 Homecoming Festivities
Pitt The Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association began a new tradition by hosting its first Homecoming Weekend at the Greensburg campus. It began with a special Alumni Reception on Friday, October 19th in the Fireside Room.

Alumni and their guests were greeted by the Coordinator of Alumni Affairs, Nancy Murphy and the Director of Institutional Advancement and University Relations, Jodi Kraisinger. Alumni were able to reminisce with one another while enjoying great food and drinks. Following the reception, was Monte Carlo Night in Wagner Dining Hall. This event was sponsored by the Student Services department and was a great opportunity for the Alumni to spend some time with current Pitt-Greensburg students. Together, they all enjoyed a fun filled night full of with food, games, and great prizes!

On Saturday, October 20th the festivities began bright and early as students and alumni gathered for breakfast at 8:00AM in Chambers Hall. Even the Bobcat got an early start that day. He arrived at the breakfast buffet full of Pitt Spirit and made sure that everyone was awake and ready for the football game! At 9:30 AM everyone loaded the bus and headed for Heinz Field.

And the spirit of Pitt-Greensburg didn’t stop there! Once fans arrived at Heinz Field there was a special Alumni Tent right outside Gate A. Pitt-Greensburg hosted their own booth inside the tent. It was full of food and prizes for everyone—including a special Prize Wheel (just like on Wheel of Fortune)! Visitors were asked to take a spin and win a prize. They walked away with everything from pom-poms and beads to food and drinks! As you can tell by the photos, fans of all ages were lining up to spin the Pitt-Greensburg Prize Wheel! We even had a drawing to give away a fabulous Pitt-Greensburg Gift Basket. Congratulations to the lucky winner: Janelle Caponigno of Pittsburgh! Janelle, we hope you enjoy all the goodies!

The kick off for the Pitt vs. Cincinnati game was at 12:00PM and the weather couldn’t have been nicer. After a great game (and an even better win), excited fans loaded the bus and headed back to Greensburg. It was definitely a great weekend and we hope you’ll join us again next year!!!
