Dr. Sharon P. Smith has been named President of the University of Pittsburgh at
Greensburg, effective July 1, 2007. We are proud to welcome, Dr. Smith and look forward to having her on campus beginning July 2, 2007.

Jason Wagner ‘01 was recently hired as the Assistant Dean of Students at
Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC. He leaves his post as the Director of Student Activities at St. Vincent
College in Latrobe, PA to accept the new position.
Andrea Cuda ’06 of Unity who attended Pitt-Greensburg for 2 years has accepted a position
with Starr Life Sciences, in Oakmont, as a sales training specialist. She completed her degree Chemistry in
Oakland and has been certified by the American Chemical Society.

Brian Root ‘04 has been appointed to the position of Secretary
on the Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association Executive Board.

2007 Bobcat Golf Outing a big success

the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will welcome its Freshman
class along with other new students joining our campus family.
Greet our new students and their families as they sign in at the
registration tent.
Remember your first day at college and how that one friendly smile
helped put you at ease? This is an excellent opportunity for you
to return that gesture by saying hello to incoming students and
making them feel at home.

Even an hour of your time can make the first day of school a happy
memory for a future Alumnus.

Each year the Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association (PGAA) acknowledges excellence among the Alumni of
the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
Currently, the PGAA Executive Board is seeking nominations for the PGAA 2008 Alumnus of Distinction Award. The nominee must be a
graduate of Pitt-Greensburg or someone who as completed two semesters of course work at Pitt-Greensburg. In addition, this alumnus
should be able to demonstrate excellence in his/her profession and dedication and service in the community and to the University of
Pittsburgh. Alumni may be awarded this distinction only once.
We recommend that candidates not be informed that they have been nominated for this award. Nominations will be accepted via mail,
fax and e-mail until Friday, September 21, 2007.

Alumni who are interested in presenting a Career Workshop during the next UPG EDGE Career Seminar at the beginning of Spring semester 2008 are asked to contact Brian Root ‘04 at bkr5@pitt.edu or Beth Tiedeman, Director of Career Services at tiedeman@pitt.edu. Alumni presenters are being sought to present workshops on topics such as: interviewing, internships & graduate school, resume writing, professional/business etiquette, financial planning for the recent grad, as examples. Any topic of interest for the student preparing to enter the job market are welcome.

Homecoming 2007
Homecoming 2007 will be celebrated the weekend of October
19th-20th. On Saturday our football team meets the University
of Cincinnati in the annual "River City Rivalry" game.
Pull out the PITT gear, bring your family, and head to Greensburg
for a Homecoming celebration. The Alumni Association is planning
a 2-day event including:

•Buffet and refreshments
•Casino party for adults
•Open gym with activities for children
Saturday, October 20
Tailgating on Pitt-Greensburg Campus
Bus trip to and from Heinz field for the game
All Pitt-Greensburg faculty, staff, students, and Alumni
are welcome to attend along with family.
