On Friday, December 5 @ 7:30 p.m. the Alumni Association is hosting a holiday reception at Mountain View Inn on Route 30 in Greensburg.  Special guest Vance Booher, a certified wine expert and owner of Mountain View Inn, will join us for an evening of wine and hors d’oeuvres.  The cost is $15/per person or $25/ per couple. 2009 Alumnus of Distinction Award

We are currently accepting nominations for the 2009 Alumnus of Distinction Award.  This award is presented to a graduate of Pitt-Greensburg (or a student that completed at least 3 semesters at the Greensburg campus) and has demonstrated excellence in his/her profession, as well as a dedication to community service and the University of Pittsburgh.

Speed Interviewing

The Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association  (PGAA) and the Office of Career Services, hosted the 2nd Annual Speed Interviewing event on Wednesday, November 12.  Special guest Jennifer Miele of WTAE Channel 4 Action News was the emcee. The evening began with a thank-you dinner for all of the guest interviewers.  Then everyone moved into the dining hall and began rotating through the 45 interview stations. Students spent approximately 5 minutes with each Guest Interviewer before moving on to the next station.  They received valuable feedback on content, body language, and overall presentation. What makes this event so unique is that the students are able to draw on the knowledge of people who have “been there done that”—which is something that can’t be taught in the classroom.  It also allows guest interviewers a chance to network with fellow alumni and other members of the community—while helping “future alumni” at the same time.  Talk about a win-win for everyone!

Brian Moreland, Class of '98 and president of the Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association, started his own chiropractic practice, Back In Motion Chiropractic, LLC, which is located at 1901 Ligonier Street in Latrobe.  Brian specializes in the Activator Methods adjusting technique that utilizes a low-force instrument which has been clinically proven to be safe and effective.  He is also a trained instructor for the Activator Method.

Alumni Weddings in Campana Chapel

If you, or a family member, are planning a wedding, why not consider getting married in the new May Lou Campana Chapel and Lecture Center located on the Pitt-Greensburg campus. This beautiful facility was built in memory of Mary Lou Campana and is only available to those people who have a direct affiliation with the University. (Immediate family members include parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters.)
